Terms of Service

Animal Sales

All sales are final.
All specimens are unsexed unless denoted by: "F" (female), "M" (male), "PM" (penultimate male), or "MM" (mature male)
Every care is made to accurately sex specimens. In the event that the wrong sex is suspected, the most recent moult should be mailed to us at the senders expense as soon as possible.
If the wrong sex is confirmed via the moult that was sent, a replacement specimen of the intended sex will be sent, with shipping at the buyers expense.
If a replacement is not available, the buyer will receive a store credit for the cost of the animal.
If payment is not received within 7 days, the order will be cancelled
Items can be held beyond the 7 day period with a non-refundable 20% deposit. This deposit is applied to the order total.
Shipping is by FedEx overnight express, standard, or by air cargo. The shipping option chosen is based on safety of the animal, not necessarily cost.
Shipping days are Monday and Tuesday.
Items will not ship until order is paid in full.
Orders may be delayed in shipping due to Holidays, weather, strikes, etc. at my discretion. Every attempt will be made to provide updates to the shipping status and wait time.
Live arrival guarantee (LAG) applies to only animals shipped via the above methods. Animals shipped or collected with alternate methods, such as local pick up, are not covered.
Packages that are not signed for, left at the door, or returned to ship centre are void from the LAG.
In addition, the LAG is void for any animals received by anyone but the payee or an approved recipient.
In the event that an animal arrives deceased, Redacted Arachnids must be contacted within 24hrs, including a clear photo of the animal with a pin through the abdomen.
Failiure to provide reasonable proof of death or illness may resuly in the LAG claim being rejected.
Failiure to report any death, illness, in-transit moult, or injury within 24hrs voids the LAG.
If an injury, illness, moult, or disease is reported in a timely manner, full LAG applies.
If a LAG claim is approved, a free replacement will be sent. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.
The buyer can choose to have the replacement added to a future order should there be availibility.
If a replacement is not available, an animal of similar value or likeness may be offered. If one isn't available or the offer is rejected, a store credit will be awarded to the customer.
LAG does not apply to freebie or replacement animals.
Replacements for both incorrectly sexed and LAG claims may not be the same size as the original animal.
The buyer has the right to reject any proposed replacement and accept a store credit instead.
Buyers under 18 years need parental permission to purchase medically significant animals. Proof of age may be requested. If not provided upon request, the sale may be denied.
Tarantulas and other exotic pets are wild animals. Redacted Arachnids is not responsible for any bites, stings, hairs, or any other injury or illness that is a result of owning, caring for, and handling these animals.
Redacted Arachnids is a private business and reserves the right to deny sales for any reason.

Breeding Loans

Available penultimate or mature males may be purchased for a reduced fee or loaned.
Males that are purchased are 100% owned by the purchaser, and Redacted Arachnids releases the rights to the male and to any offspring.
Males that are loaned are still the property of Redacted Arachnids, and may not be sold, loaned, or given away without express permission from Redacted Arachnids.
All breeding loans are 50/50. Redacted Arachnids agrees to pay all shipping fees to obtain the slings.
All breeding loans require a contract between Redacted Arachnids and the loanee to protect the rights of both parties.
Specific species, such as rare or hard to breed, may be subject to specific terms which will be discussed and outlined on a case-by-case basis.
Redacted Arachnids agrees to pay all shipping costs associated with receiving mature males sent to us.
Any fee, cost, or trade made for the mature male beyond shipping costs will be seen as a purchase of the mature male, and therefore void the sender of any rights to the male or offspring.
Due to the nature of arachnid breeding, Redacted Arachnids cannot be held liable should any injury up to and including death occur as a result of the mating process.
If a pairing is unsuccessful, the sender will not receive any subsequent slings from future pairings of the same female.
If a pairing is successful, the sender agrees to pay the cost of shipping for their share of slings.
If a female double clutches, the clutch will be the full property of Redacted Arachnids.
Any deviance from these terms will be specified in the breeding contact or loan agreement between Redacted Arachnids and the other party.

Moult Sexing

Moults are shipped at senders expense.
Redacted Arachnids does not guarantee every moult will have enough examinable material, or be developed enough to visualize reproductive structures.
Moults are very fragile and should be packaged in a way that preserves at least the abdomen for the best outcome.
Moults should be properly labelled with species denoted in the scientific name.
In order to visualize the reproductive structures of the specimen, the moults are dissected and mounted onto microscope slides. This process means the moults will not be returned to the sender.
A photograph and explanation of the visible structures will be provided to the sender as evidence of sex.
Photographs of moults may be used in our gallery of spermathecae.
